The health emergency declaration against COVID-19 is lifted

The Embassy of Bolivia in the Netherlands communicates that according to the Ministerial Resolution N°461 from 31 July 2023 the health emergency declaration against COVID-19 is lifted in the whole territory of the Plurinational State of Bolivia.

Requirements for entry to Bolivia for travelers from abroad, according to Ministerial Resolution No. 0001, of April 27, 2022.

In compliance with Ministerial Resolution No. 0001, of April 27, 2022, the epidemiological surveillance measures for the entry of travelers from abroad provided for in Article 3 of Supreme Decree 4481, of March 31, 2021, are modified. modified by Supreme Decree No. 4605, of October 27, 2021, from April 29, 2022, to enter Bolivia through the different access routes to the country, at least one of these requirements will be required, in a mandatory manner. :

COVID-19 vaccination certificate in physical or digital format (complete schedule) at least 14 days before the date of entry into the country, or
Negative RT-PCR test for people over 5 years of age

to. By air, up to seventy-two (72) hours before boarding in the country of origin;

b. By land, river or lake, up to seventy-two (72) hours before entering the Plurinational State of Bolivia;

Certified nasal antigen test for people over five years of age:
to. By air, up to forty-eight (48) hours before boarding in the country of origin;
b. By land, river or lake, up to forty-eight (48) hours before entering the Plurinational State of Bolivia.

During your stay in Bolivia, you must comply with the biosafety measures established in the Plurinational State of Bolivia.

Requirements for entry to Bolivia for travelers from abroad, according to Supreme Decree No. 4481, modified by D.S. 4605 of October 27, 2021.

ARTICLE 2.- (MODIFICATION).

 

I. Article 3 of the modify Decreto Supremo N° 4481, of March 31, 2021, with the following text:

“ARTICLE 3.- (EPIDEMIOLOGICAL SURVEILLANCE MEASURES FOR THE ENTRY OF TRAVELERS FROM ABROAD).

For travelers coming from abroad to the Plurinational State of Bolivia, the following measures are established on a mandatory basis:

a) In cases where they have a COVID-19 vaccination certificate with a complete schedule at least fourteen (14) days before the date of admission:

Certified negative RT-PCR test for persons over five (5) years of age:
i) Up to seventy-two (72) hours before boarding in the country of origin, for national or foreign persons coming from outside the country by air;
ii) Up to seventy-two (72) hours before entering the Plurinational State of Bolivia for nationals or foreigners who enter the national territory by land, river or lake.
Before entering Bolivian territory, foreign passengers who do not have permanent residence in Bolivia must have health insurance with coverage for COVID-19, which covers the expenses for their treatment.

b) If you do not have a COVID-19 vaccination certificate with a complete schedule at least fourteen (14) days before the date of admission:

Comply with the measures indicated in paragraphs 1 and 2 of subsection a) of this Article;
Perform the RT-PCR test after seventy-two (72) hours of entering Bolivian territory, the cost of which will be covered by the passenger, and remain in mandatory isolation from entry until obtaining the negative result, which will be controlled and monitored. according to current regulations of the Ministry of Health and Sports; “In case of a positive result, the corresponding protocol will be followed.”

II. Paragraph II of Article 4 of the Decreto Supremo N° 4481, of March 31, 2021, with the following text:

“II. Passengers and crew of medical evacuation flights, relief flights, humanitarian aid flights, cargo flights, special and solidarity flights, for their entry into Bolivian territory, must only comply with what is established in section i) of section 1 of subsection a) of Article 3 of this Supreme Decree.”

III. Paragraph VI of Article 4 of Supreme Decree No. 4481, of March 31, 2021, is modified with the following text:

“VI. Persons belonging to diplomatic missions, consular missions, special missions, international organizations, specialists and technicians in different areas are exempt from the application of numeral 2 of subsection b) of Article 3 of this Supreme Decree.

IV. Article 5 of Supreme Decree No. 4481, of March 31, 2021, is modified with the following text:

” ARTICLE 5.- (ISOLATION AND CASE MANAGEMENT).

I. The isolation established in numeral 2 of subsection b) of Article 3 of this Supreme Decree will be at the declared address.

II. When a suspected case or probable case of COVID-19 is identified at the point of entry, the current protocol will be applied, which includes mandatory isolation.”

Up to seventy-two (72) hours before boarding in the country of origin, for nationals or foreigners coming from outside the country by air;
Up to seventy-two (72) hours before entering the Plurinational State of Bolivia for nationals or foreigners who enter the national territory by land, river or lake.

b) Isolation for at least ten (10) days after entering Bolivian territory, which will be controlled and monitored according to current regulations of the Ministry of Health and Sports;

c) Presentation of a sworn declaration of the place of stay in Bolivian territory;

d) Carry out the sample collection for the RT-PCR test on the seventh day of isolation, the cost of which must be covered by the passenger; If the result is positive, the corresponding protocol will be followed;

e) Before entering Bolivian territory, foreign passengers who do not have permanent residence in Bolivia must have health insurance with coverage for COVID-19, which covers the expenses for their treatment.

ARTICLE 4.- (EXCEPTIONS).

SAW. Persons belonging to diplomatic missions, special missions, international organizations, specialists and technicians in different areas are exempt from the application of subsection b) of Article 3 of this Supreme Decree, and the RT-PCR test must be performed on the seventh day of their stay. .

ARTICLE 5.- (ISOLATION AND CASE MANAGEMENT).

The isolation established in section b) of Article 3 of this Supreme Decree will be domiciliary; except when a suspected case or probable case of COVID-19 is identified at the point of entry, which will be subject to what is established by the Ministry of Health and Sports.

Extension of restriction of flights from Europe Supreme Decree No. 4473

The restriction on entry to Bolivia for flights from Europe was extended until May 31, 2021.

With the exception of the following flights:

medical evacuation;
Repatriation of nationals;
relief flights;
Humanitarian aid;

Special flights, including charity flights.

Passengers on the flights indicated in the previous paragraph coming from Europe must comply with the following standards and biosafety measures:

Negative RT-PCR or Antigenic test to enter the country, valid for Ten (10) days prior to the scheduled date of entry.
Isolation for fourteen (14) days after admission;
Presentation of a sworn declaration of the place of stay in Bolivian territory

The restriction on entry to Bolivia for flights from Europe continues until February 15, 2021.

New Protocol for the Entry of People into the Territory of the Plurinational State of Bolivia – Post-Confinement Stage of COVID-19

 

Bolivian citizens and foreigners who enter Bolivia, by air, land, river or lake, must comply with the following requirements and biosafety measures to contain the transmission of the virus:

 

  • Have a Covid-19 RT-PCR certificate with a negative result valid prior to the scheduled entry date of:
  • three (3) days for citizens from neighboring countries;
  • seven (7) days for citizens from South America, Central America and the Caribbean;
  • ten (10) days for citizens from North America, Europe, Asia and Oceania).
  • Minors aged 12 and over must have the certificate.

Travel Requirements for Bolivia

In reference to the travel requirements for Bolivia, the requirement for a visa from the Bolivian Consulate in the specific analysis test certificate (PCR) for Covid-19 has been eliminated. However, it should be noted that it is still necessary to submit the PCR with a negative result.

Supreme Decree No 4327 of September 7, 2020

SINGLE FINAL PROVISION.-

I. Paragraphs III and IV of Article 5 of Supreme Decree No. 4314, of August 27, 2020, are modified with the following text:

“III. Bolivians, foreigners residing in Bolivia, foreigners, people belonging to diplomatic missions, special missions, international organizations, specialists and technicians in different areas, who enter the national territory by air must present at the immigration control points, in addition to the formal requirements upon admission, the certification of the specific analysis test (PCR) for COVID-19 with a negative result, valid no more than seven (7) days from the scheduled date of admission.
