In reference to the Viceministerial Resolution No. 000222-2021-VMPCIC/MC, of September 16, 2021, issued by the Viceministry of Cultural Heritage and Cultural Industries of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Peru, that declares as a Cultural Heritage of the Nation the dance “Diablada Puneña”, the Ministry of Culture, Decolonization and Depatriarchalization of the Plurinational State of Bolivia, states that, as it is public knowledge “La Diablada” is the main dance of the Carnival of Oruro – Bolivia proclaimed by UNESCO in 2001, as the “Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of the Humanity” and registered in 2008 on the representative list of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
Furthermore, by law No. 149 of July 11, 2011, the dance of “La Diablada” was declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of the Plurinational State of Bolivia.
The cultural heritage of the Bolivian people is inalienable, unattachable and imprescriptible. It is part of the expression, identity and legacy of the Plurinational State of Bolivia.
